Jews have lived in Winterthur since the Middle Ages. Our small but fine orthodox community has existed for around 140 years and is open to all Jews who value a family-like community connection. There are no constraints, everyone joins in where they feel it is important.
The community comes together regularly in a warm, family-like atmosphere. Community life includes religious services, a diverse programme of events, as well as educational and social offerings for children, youth, and adults. At the heart of it all are shared experiences, personal exchange, and the celebration of Jewish traditions.
At various events throughout the year, many enjoy the lively exchange between participants.
On high holidays and other occasions, we hold services in our prayer room.
A tour of the synagogue is available on request for anyone interested.
Religious education is offered for children, and events for young professionals are organised on a regular basis.
